Energy For Life (EFL)
Nalanie’s granddaughter, Tania, was born with a Mitochondrial disorder and this led to SIS supporting AEPMI - an association based in Spain for patients suffering from Mitochondrial Disease. The support provided by SIS included hosting a special event entitled “Energy For Life” held at a nearby golf club. The event raised €30,000 for the establishment of a national register of Mitochondrial patients.

“Energy for Life: Talia’s Story” – A mother’s love for her special needs child and her search for answers. It is a true account of how love can heal. The purpose of this documentary is to raise awareness of Mitochondrial Disease and help all those suffering and living with the condition all over the world. The story shows the day to day reality of living with Mitochondrial Disease, a family's journey to find answers and look for a diagnosis. It includes medical information relayed by experts in the field. It also shows how Shani and her family's journey to raise Mito awareness has brought her into contact with other families also searching for answers.
