Susanna (Shanti) Alman

Susanna Alman, also known as Shanti, is a disciple of Sri Swami Satchidananda, who was introduced to her by her Yoga Spiritual teacher Nalanie Harilela Chellaram. Shanti received her Sanskrit name from Swami Satchidananda in Bali in 1999.

Shanti was born in Cheshire in the UK on 4th June 1961 and came to live in Gibraltar in 1979, together with her parents and two sisters. Her involvement with Integral Yoga began in June 1995, and she currently serves as a committee member of both the Integral Yoga Centre in Gibraltar and the SIS charity in Spain.

Over the years she has completed many Yogic courses and is certified in Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Cardiac Yoga, Yoga for the Special Child, and Accessible Yoga, and also in Neuroscience, Yoga and Mindfulness.

Having qualified she has taught Hatha and Raja Yoga in Gibraltar, Spain, Portugal and the UK. In addition, she has given talks on Numerology and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and conducted classes in Chair Yoga for cancer patients in Gibraltar.

As Nalanie’s PA she has been privileged to assist in the organising of Yoga Teacher Training Courses in both Hatha and Raja Yoga. During the last 10 years Shanti, in conjunction with other teachers, has given Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Courses in the UK and Finland. In Gibraltar and Spain, she co-teaches these courses with another devotee and IYC Committee member, Daya Dewfall, and together they also organise Yoga retreats in Spain.

Shanti teaches Hatha classes online via Zoom, which are held in both English and Spanish. She is also currently actively involved in the Mind–Body–Soul Wellness Programme in schools around Gibraltar.

Her aim is to serve the world with a heart full of peace, joy, love and light.
